Proclamation Is in Conjunction with National Farmers Market Week, August 3rd-9th, 2025

WHEREAS, the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market has served as a cornerstone of our community for 150 years, celebrating fresh food, local farmers and makers, community flavor and fellowship in Greensboro, North Carolina since 1874, making it one of the oldest existing producer farmers markets in the nation;

WHEREAS, the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market connects farmers, food producers, artisan makers and friends to foster an equitable, nutritious food system and support local entrepreneurs in an inviting, inclusive community environment;

WHEREAS, the Market strengthens our community’s economic vitality by creating local jobs and generating tax revenue that directly benefits the Greater Greensboro area and rural communities within a 100-mile radius while preserving the Piedmont Region’s rich agricultural heritage passed down through generations of family farmers and supporting local food producers and artisan makers;
